Making lots of cookies is HARD. Luckily Annie sent me some treats for just the teachers. We are working on her super cute site right now. Cant wait to launch it.
Little R had a heart dress (of course) and I cant show her in it, I wish that I could! I sewed a little heart on Henry's shirt last night and he was SO excited to wear it. He is such a nut.
I seriously love this song. The chemistry, the voices and simplicity. Music was so much better when you didnt have to be model hot. These two are totally hot but would not have a cameo on a tween Disney show any time soon.
This song will always make me think of the world's most depressing Valentine's Day mix that my friend Ben and I made.
A song that my husband and I both just realized is one of our favorites. He tells me that Cat Power ruined Smog but whatevs. Love Cat Power. Need to add that while I was playing Bathysphere Henry was ROCKING OUT dancing to it. He is so weird.
Promises to Henry and Little R if he wore big boy underwear. Little R is "helping" us train Henry. My son will do anything for a donut.
He will even make moves to acquire his next donut at the expense of his sister.
Hosted my first meeting and Thor attended it with me. One hour of quiet, yes please. Ive only ever been to meetings at other peoples homes or at camp.
Can't figure out if we should paint the walls, we traded rooms with the kids. It's very yellow.
Been working on some things. Some things were for an art show called "It Takes Two" at the Artstream gallery in New Hampshire. If you are in the area make sure to check out the space regardless. Susan is super awesome!
I drew and lettered these and Thor colored them in.
"Our greatest collaboration so far is our children, Henry and Little R. These artworks are based on their pronunciations of some things that they have come across in their lives. Together, we made them into flashcards to help people understand exactly what these two little crazies are talking about."
Oh man I super love this Kiehl's packaging featuring "TULIPS" by Jeff Koons. I also super love the cause. I could use some Creme de Corps right now my skin is so DRY.
"With the shared vision of creating safer, more sustainable environments for children, the Kiehl’s and KOONS partnership will raise awareness and funds though the sale of the Limited Edition Creme de Corps Holiday Collection, a four-product collection featuring the newest formulation, Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter.
100% of Kiehl’s Worldwide Net Profits up to $200,000 will benefit The Koons Family Institute, an initiative of the International Centre for Missing & Exploited Children (ICMEC). Each product in the collection - available in Kiehl’s stores around the world this holiday season only - features the artwork of TULIPS (1995-98 Oil on Canvas) from the iconic Celebration Series on its label."
Henry used to be super freaked out by dancing. It may have had something to do with the fact that both his parents are crazy horrible but excited dancers. One time my mother and I were in some kind of dance-a-thon and I was apparently wilding out and she actually asked me to stop. We got to a point where Henry would yell at us if we started dancing and we would say "HEY! It's my body and I can dance if I want to!" Then he started taking it a little easier.
So the other day Little R's social worker showed up for a visit while we were eating lunch. When Henry was done (I might also add that he wasn't wearing pants because we are potty training) and said "HEY! IT'S MY BODY I CAN DANCE IF I WANT TO." and he went BANANAS. He basically does this crazy chicken strut and Little R is more of a traditionalist preferring to be picked up and danced with properly. Luckily shes like 2 pounds.
So here is a Music Monday list of songs that get our kids dancing lately. We are battling over what to do about songs with swears. They really like the Violent Femmes album but a couple of songs I just have to skip. Little R repeats and remembers everything.
I knew that I would be in a lot of trouble when I had a daughter I just didnt know how much. I guess that I can make excuses like "I get Henry's clothes for trade." or "This is inspiration for work." Ah well. Exciting projects coming up in the next couple months. Once everything else slows down, I'll be collaborating on some kids clothes which at one point I would love to share here. Working with a few different people. It should be fun and hopefully productive. Im also on the hunt for a new office space.
I use my Kids In The Halls board on pintrest to collect items that I love. Pintrest is like the best window shopping for me, because I often forget what it was I liked when I was walking around. Did I mention that I sort of hate shopping?
Little R seriously needs some suspenders and or several belts. She's pretty skinny and even 2T jeggings are baggy on her. Her entire butt was hanging out of her pants yesterday when we were outside and she had NO idea! Henry also likes to wear her jeggings and her skinny jeans with bows on them. I wish I could post the picture of him wearing those and sitting on Santa's lap. We put her pants on him by accident and he refused to change out of them. Whatevs. But Little R's face is also in the picture (they are so cute its insane). I asked Santa what she asked for and he said "she didnt ask for anything, she just wanted to talk about her shoes and how fancy and shiny they were." Love it.
Right now I am totally digging this site oii design which I discovered via dos family. I seriously feel like I was born in the wrong country.
